About the Publisher Seven Gable House was established in 2006 primarily to publish Bruce Iserman’s writing. The business is located in the author’s seven-gabled century home in Walkerton, Ontario. Students of literature both, Iserman and his wife Jenny named their business to honour the original “House of the Seven Gables” in Salem, Massachusetts immortalized by the nineteenth century American writer Nathaniel Hawthorne. Although self publishing is sometimes looked down on by the mainstream publishing industry, at Seven Gable House we feel we are furthering a fine tradition. We recognize that the work of some revered writers might not have achieved any recognition without starting by self publishing. For example, Virginia Woolf’s work was first published by the Hogarth Press, which she established and operated with her husband Leonard. Seven Gable House follows this tradition. We hope Bruce Iserman’s collection of short stories will be the first of many other publications of quality and literary worth. About the Book The cover art is an original work by the author’s niece Martha Iserman. She is a printmaker and illustrator who lives and works in Minneapolis, U.S.A. Some of her work can be seen at www.bigredsharks.com The book was printed in Canada by Friesens Corporation on forest friendly 100% recycled paper. www.friesens.com Paper bound – 8 ½ ” x 5 ½” - 216 pages.
