About the Author Bruce Iserman grew up in the United States and made Canada his permanent home during the Vietnam War. He studied English Literature at the University of Colorado and the University of Toronto where he completed his Masters degree. He then became a high school teacher, spending his long career at John Diefenbaker Secondary School in Hanover, Ontario. He was Head of English there, and he inspired several generations of students with his love of language and his gift for imparting the principles of good grammar. Bruce Iserman’s poetry and prose have appeared in numerous literary journals, including The Fiddlehead, Grain, The Dalhousie Review, Canadian Literature, The New Quarterly and Prism International. He has written several volumes of poetry, short stories, a novel and he has co-authored a comedy that was staged by a local drama group in 2005. Bruce Iserman’s interest in writing and books naturally led him to explore how books are made. A short book binding course inspired him to hand print and bind some of his own work. Every year it is a Christmas season tradition for friends and family to receive one of his short stories, each printed and hand bound by the author. Now, with publication of this collection, the author is delighted to share some of these stories with a wider audience. Contact Bruce Iserman at author@sevengablehouse.ca.
